Personalised programming with Pure Balance Lifestyles is provided with full individual postural assessment and education. Individually prescribed routines to benefit YOU and full exercise coaching and accountability provided throughout your ENTIRE journey - whether you are coming to training sessions, or to consultations and weigh in's. Your program will be individually tailered to your needs, and delivered weekly and are FULLY accessible via your smartphone or tablet. Your program will contain FULL exercise instructions and graphics if you forget something from your training sessions.
Your journey is personal, and not much about Pure Balance Lifestyles is a one size fits all plan. I truly believe that a nutrition plan is good for some, and not suitable for others for various reasons including dietary considerations and personal likes/dislikes. For those of you completing Purely Personalised Programming have the opportunity to submit a food diary for review from myself, or Accredited Dietitian Joanna who specialises in medical nutrition and works with a range of lifestyle related medical conditions
This format allows us to effectively educate you about your current diet, and how to make healthy more positive change without taking away the entire taste or breaking the bank. It won’t require you to cook one meal for yourself and another for your children.
Strength training has so many important properties which you cannot gain from cardiovascular exercise alone including increased muscle strength and tone, improved posture, more efficient burning of calories which speeds up weight loss, improved mobility due to increased range of motion and balance, increased bone density, better sleep, increased self esteem, less risk of falls and injuries…seriously the list goes on. There is no contraindication for exercise, especially strength training. As a personal trainer, I have worked with a wide variety of clients, of all shapes and sizes. My eldest personal training client is 87 years young!

Fundamentals of Gymnastics

There is no better way to learn perfect technique than by starting your journey with Pure Balance Lifestyles. Pure Balance Lifestyles will educate, motivate and teach you the way to optimal wellbeing.
If you require a one – off program, for whatever reason, please send an enquiry through. I can provide you with a quote, however, I do not suggest using the same strength training program for a lengthy period of time which is why all of my routines are varied week to week in a progressive format. You can ADD a program to your current schedule so you get 2 seperate strength sessions.
Once you sign up for a program, you are locked in for an 8 week period of time. You will either pay for the program up front, or in two payments – one at the beginning and one at the half way point. For real results, I do suggest a minimum of 8 weeks. Payment will be 4 weekly or 8 weekly.
All of my personalised programs come in an easy to read format with all exercise details and graphics accessible via your smartphone if you forget details. I am also only an email away if you are still unsure. Pure Balance Lifestyles makes failure impossible.
My programs are balanced with strength training coupled with high intensity movements to increase your heart rate. This type of programming is efficient for gaining maximum results. If you would like individual cardio programming (ie. Run programs) please enquire and I can deliver you a quote dependent on the type of programming you are looking for.
If weight loss is what you are after, then keeping on top of the amount of cardio you complete on top of your strength training programs is important, but if you are running out of time focus on completing the strength training programs first. Building muscle is important for maintaining strength and posture, and has important properties for weight loss. It is more important than cardio.
All of my programs have been specifically designed to maintain safety and prevent injury. If you are completing an exercise and something other than the burning muscle you are working out is hurting, take a moment to consult the exercise library and specific cues for executing the exercises with perfect technique. It could be the smallest thing such as where your foot is positioned, or if you have the correct pelvic tilt if required? If it continues to hurt, stop what you are doing.
As a general rule, if you think you may have hurt yourself while completing a workout keep and eye on the intensity of the pain afterwards. If it is improving over time, leave it and it should be ok within a week or two. If it stops improving before it is completely better, or if it begins to get worse, you may need to consult your doctor, physiotherapist, chiropractor or myotherapist for further consultation and treatment.
Neutral spine is a term referring to the most natural position for our spine to be in. A healthy spine should have three natural curves, cervical, thoracic and lumbar. Loading your body with external weight challenges your postural muscles and you will learn how to remain injury free and lift safely with Pure Balance Lifestyles.
Core engagement – this term will pop up all over my exercise library. Core engagement is necessary in order to maintain your neutral spine, it refers to activating all of the muscles which encapsulate your spine in order to discourage any spinal movement from those three curves your spine should naturally hold. More simplistically, it involves a proud chest, abdominal as well as glute engagement.
As a trainer, I know that one way of teaching an exercise is not the same way I teach it to another when they have to position their body slightly differently due to their own postural limitations. With my training experience and nursing knowledge, I am confident in post operative training and rehabilitation, post joint replacement strength training, older adult strength and balance improvement, post stroke rehabilitation and exercising with arthritis and other medical complaints.
